The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) represents approximately 750,000 members who work in a wide variety of fields, including utilities, construction, telecommunications, broadcasting, manufacturing, railroads and government.

The IBEW has members in both the United States and Canada and stands out among the American unions in the AFL-CIO because it is among the largest and has members in so many skilled occupations.

Local 567 will be joining Local 490 to offer The Electrical Contractor Business Course in October. This three day program covers many aspects of the organized electrical contracting industry. There is a fee for the course with the possibility of reimbursement. Please contact the hall for more information if you are interested and you have a Maine Master Electrician's license.

We will be sponsoring an Explorer post for the Boy Scouts of America. This post will be centered around the electrical construction industry and will be the first building trades post in Maine. Members of LU 567 that are interested in being a committee member or instructor are urged to contact the union hall for more information.
